The TIP grant aids low-income and disadvantaged Wisconsin students with additional college funding to help reduce the student’s amount of loan, work-study, or unmet need.
In order to receive a TIP grant, a student must:
be accepted to a Wisconsin university, technical college, private independent college or university, or tribal college
be a first-time college student
be attending at least part-time
complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
meet at least one of the criteria from Group A and one criteria from Group B (see application for specific criteria)
Yes! The TIP grant can be renewed for up to ten semesters of enrollment and must be used within six years of enrollment at a public, private, or technical college or university in Wisconsin.
Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Grant amounts range from $600-$1800 per school year.
