Pottery and Sculpture

Course Description

This course offers the study of three dimensional design with an emphasis on clay construction.Units will cover basic clay hand building techniques and an introduction to wheel throwing.Students will learn about the processes of clay drying, firing, and glazing.Students will be introduced to a variety of sculptural techniques, including relief, modeling in the round and 3D construction, using a variety of materials. Art History, Art criticism and aesthetics will also be covered in this course.
