Objective:
Students will learn how to code using tangible blocks and be able to organize their musical ideas using the Osmo coding technology
Directions:
1. Practice Levels: Students embark on their musical journey by completing various practice levels. Each level unlocks a new character, each with its unique sound style.
2. Studio Unlock: As students make progress in the practice levels, they gradually unlock their studio—a creative space for musical experimentation.
3. Band Formation: In the studio, students can curate their band by selecting three characters from those they've unlocked. Each character contributes a distinct flavor to the ensemble.
4. Song Creation: Armed with coding blocks and the knowledge gained from practice, students compose their own songs. They employ the coding principles they've learned to craft melodies, beats, and rhythms.
5. Video Style Selection: Once their composition is complete, students can choose their preferred video style to accompany their song. This adds a visual dimension to their musical creation.
6. Sharing: Students can share their completed songs directly with the teacher via email, showcasing their musical prowess and creativity.
7. Class Presentation: To conclude the project, each student has the opportunity to present their song to the class, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Guidelines:
Students used Osmo coding blocks with the Osmo Coding Jam application to produce their songs.
