Reading may be the single most important skill that students learn in school. It is critical that they develop strong decoding skills and reading comprehension in order to be successful academically. We provide reading support for students who need extra help. This reading intervention is in addition to the reading instruction provided by the classroom teacher. It is typically a small group, fast paced, thirty minute lesson for 3-6 students. We focus on the five pillars of reading instruction: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary.
We use the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model to provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 research based interventions for those students who are in need of additional support.
