Course Description: Music Exploration Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12 Term: Year Course Prerequisite: none This course is offered to students looking for an opportunity to explore various types of music making. Students will be exposed to music by learning to play a band instrument, a string instruments, guitars, percussion instruments and how to sing in a choir. Learning to read notation, chord charts, and compose original compositions. There are no public performances outside the classroom hour. This course is offered to students looking for an opportunity to explore various types of music making. Following successful completion of this course, students will be able to successfully enter Beginning High School Orchestra, Concert Band, Beginning Guitar, Cantare or Cantemos, and will have a knowledge of basic music theory and music history.
