Equity is one of the strategic priorities of the Minneapolis Public Schools and a key lever for ensuring we're achieving more equitable outcomes for all students. This toolkit is set up as a set of resources to support professional development, coaching and practice shift. The competencies are not meant to be used in a linear fashion but as a spiral toward shifting mindsets and practice.
Step 1: Start with exploration if you do not yet have an equity team. These resources will help develop an effective equity team and steps to get the work of the team started.
Step 2: Choose an equity competency and attribute to focus on. The full list can be seen here.
These are not meant to be addressed in a linear way. Your team should identify what is the highest priority for your school and related best to your team goals.
If at any point you need support or guidance on how to use this toolkit, please reach out to the Equity Team. We would be happy to connect or meet with your site!
