Founded in 2024, the Black Star Union began as a small group of passionate students looking to create a space where Black voices could be heard and celebrated. Over the year, BSU has grown into a powerful network of student leaders who support each other in their academic, professional, and personal growth.
The Black Star Union was founded with the aim of creating a supportive, inclusive environment for Black students, families, and community members. From its inception, BSU has focused on providing students opportunities for personal leadership development. We believe in the power of community and the ability of Black students to lead in both academic and extracurricular spaces.
Our Goals:
To provide leadership opportunities for Black students on campus and beyond.
To create and maintain a space where students can feel safe, supported, and heard.
To host events, workshops, and initiatives that empower Black students in their personal and academic lives.
To build advocacy skills that will help students become leaders and change-makers in their communities.

Parents’ Role in Supporting BSU:
In BSU, we recognize that parents are essential to the success of our students. The involvement and support of families are key components in helping students thrive both academically and personally. We are proud to have parents as active partners in our mission, and their contributions are making a significant impact on the development and growth of our student leaders.
