What to Do with the Tutor’s Google Doc Comments
after Your Appointment
Removing a Comment
To remove a comment, click “resolve.” After fixing your error and/or choosing to attend to the comment, clicking “resolve” will make the comment disappear.
(You can still access comments through the comment history button later on if necessary. See “Checking Comment History” below.)
Replying to a Comment
To reply to a comment, type a reply/question/comment in the “reply” box and hit “enter.” This enables you to have a text conversation with the tutor. This can be useful for getting clarification on any comments/suggestions/questions. Re-submitting your revised paper to the drop-off queue will ensure that a tutor has time set aside to answer your follow-up questions.
Accepting/Rejecting a Suggestion
If the tutor is using “Suggesting” mode, you have the option of whether or not to “accept” or “reject” the suggestion by hovering over the check mark (accept) or the X (reject).
Checking Comment History
Once the comments/suggestions are resolved/accepted/rejected, they will disappear from the document’s right margin. However, a record of these interactions will remain available for review using the dialogue bubble in the upper right hand corner (next to the SHARE tab), where you can click “Open comment history” to view the past writing process.
