Welcome to the RWC!
How do I know which Reading & Writing Center resource to use? Below you can read about the different types of support offered at the RWC and find out how they can best meet your needs.
Drop-In Help: The RWC is a safe and comfortable study space. Come on down and settle in! If you have a question while you're working on a reading or writing assignment, come up to the front desk and see if one of our tutors is free to help you. If we're all busy with other students, you can sign in on the waiting list and one of us will be with you soon!
Face-to-Face Appointments: You can make an appointment to meet with one of our tutors face-to-face here at the RWC. From Lobo Apps, find Accudemia, select "Face-to-Face Appointment," and then choose a date and time that works for you for a 25 or 50 minute meeting. You'll get a confirmation email, and your tutor will be ready to meet you at the appointed time.
Online (Synchronous) Appointments: These are live one-to-one appointments through Zoom. From Lobo Apps, find Accudemia, select "Online Appointment (Synchronous)," and then choose a date and time that works for you for a 25 or 50 minute meeting. You'll get a confirmation email, and your tutor will be ready to meet you at the appointed time in their "Zoom room." You can find the link to the Zoom conference by logging into Accudemia or through your confirmation email.
Paper Drop Off (Asynchronous) Appointments: This is our "essay drop-off" service. If your schedule is busy, and you don't have time to meet face-to-face, then this option is for you. From Lobo Apps, find Accudemia, and select "Paper Drop Off (Asynchronous online)." Select an available slot, and then--in the "Notes" window, paste in the URL for your Google Doc. (Be sure to give the RWC permission to edit your document so we can make notes and suggestions in the margins! Our address is rwcpaperreview@mpc.edu.) Also, below the link to your Google Doc, leave us a note about what you'd like help with, so we know what to focus on as we review your paper. We'll get back to you within 24 hours (except on weekends and holidays).
