This is my beginning of the year i-Ready reflection. I'm 53rd in the national percentile. This means I have a score of mostly grade 7. I am not proud of this score at all because I feel that I could do better if I just spent a little more time on the test. I want to set forth a goal to get at least get into the 70th percentile.
The myth of the math person is that someone is either born a math person or not. This myth has been disproved many times, you aren't born a math person or not you but you can study and work hard to become better at math. Another thing is that mistakes are almost essential to grow and learn. We make mistakes all the time but we can also choose to learn from them. Personally math is not my favorite subject and sometimes I can get really frustrated by it because I either don't understand something or are just to stubborn to realize my mistake, but I am trying to improve my skills in math this year. Some steps that I can take to help myself to get a better mindset is that math isn't evil, it's just equations and answers.
We had our second geometry quiz and I scored five out of six. This is still a meets but I feel that I could have done better because the only question that I missed was an easy one that I just miss-read. I thought that the question was asking if something was not congruent, (identical in form) but the question was if it was. I only missed the question because of a stupid mistake. In the future I wan't to spend a little more time reading the question.
This quiz was mainly focused on transformations, angles, and similarities. I got 5/5 on the quiz (there is no exceeds on the quizzes) which is a meets. I am actually pretty proud of this score because for every test or quiz I would miss one really easy question but I finally got a perfect score on at least one of the quiz's. This means I actually completed one of my prior goals to pay more attention in class but a new goal would be to try to improve even more in math.
At the end of this unit we had a test about geometry. I got an Approaching on the test but a meets for my work book. I am content with my work book because I met the expectation but I feel that I could have done better on the test. A goal I want to set for our next test is to take more time answering and reading questions and also try harder so that I can improve my test scores.
For my workbook grade I got a meets which means I met the standard and did everything I was supposed to do in class. But for the test I got an Approaching for my grade. I feel that I could have done better, on one question I just didn't put the center of rotation and how many units it would be translated because the lines on the graph were hard to see due to the printer. A goal I could set for future tests is to always add extra details even if it doesn't say I have to.
We had our first algebra quiz and I got a 5/5 on it. I am pretty proud of this score because it shows that I understand the subject and had paid attention. A goal to set is to just do the same thing on my next test.
In this unit we learned a lot about graphs, proportional and non proportional relationships, and linear and non linear relationships. I got a meets the on the test and workbook. I am pretty proud of this because it means I met the standard. Even though I got a meets I would still like to set a goal to try harder on my next test.
This test was pretty much all about two step and multi step equations. I am actually kinda embarrassed to say this but I got a Developing on this test. I did do test corrections though and got a meets for my final score but still a developing as my first score. A goal for my next test is to try to pay more attention in class and try harder on the test.
This is our first quiz of 2026 and I got a meets. I got four out of five questions correct, which gave me a meets. The one question I missed was the last equation, where I just took some wrong steps during the solving system.
This was was our first quiz about functions. I got a four out of five, which is a meets. I am pretty happy with this result because it shows that I understand the subject on a normal level. A goal I want to establish for my next quiz is to just spend a little more time on the questions and hopefuly get five out of five next time.
This test was mainly about functions, and how to find things like volume, height, and diameter of cylinders, spheres, and cones. I got yet another developing on this test and a meets on the workbook. I payed attention in class and did my delta math, so I don't really know what happened. I am very frustrated with myself for this grade, so a goal to set forward is to pay even more attention and try harder on the next test. I have completed the test correction which now gives me a meets, but I am still frustrated with my first grade.
This quiz was mostly about exponents. I think I have been doing pretty well in this new unit so far which was a goal of mine, to focus harder and get better grades in math. I got a four out of five on this quiz which is a meets. I am pretty proud of this grade because it shwos that I met the standard, but I feel like I could still improve. So my goal for the next quiz is to get a five out of five.
This test was mainly about squared and cubed equations. I got an Approaching on the test. I feel that I got this grade because I still didn't really understand the material, and I think I could have paid more attention in class. A goal for my next test is to study harder and spend more time on the material.
