In this Socratic seminar we talked about the main character Brian Stevenson and his struggles against racism on death row. This topic is really important because of how racial inequality impacts our justice system.  I contributed by verbalizing my beliefs and opinions. I could have improved presenting my ideas with more confidence and precision. 

This Socratic seminar was about Kit Carson who, in my opinion is a mass murderer and not an American hero, but he was a significant influence on the westward expansion.  I learned that historical figures are often complicated and their legacies can be debated. I felt confident during the seminar. 

I was a mock defense attorney for Kit Carson. While it did not change my opinion of him, I learned to how to organize important facts and present them in a meaningful way.
