How has your seventh grade year helped to shape your Identity?
My 7th grade year has helped shape my identity because at the end of 6th grade and begining of 7th grade I was still trying to figure out who I was and I still am, but I think I am closer because I think I found my people who will be my friends for a long time. In my time at Mountain I have also discovered new interests that I probably would not have discovered otherwise, like guitar and spray paining.
My significant adult is my snowboard coach Jeff Williams. He is my significant adult because of how he shows the four habits of heart and mind on the mountain and everywhere else. He shows respect by respecting his students and everyone on the mountain. He shows integrity by not taking the younger kids on runs that their parents might not want them to go on because its dangerous. He shows refinement by updating his teaching methods and trying something new if it seems like the advice he is giving is not working he also helps us work on our refinement by getting us to do tricks over and over again. He shows effort in his teaching because he putts all the effort he can into his teaching and encourages other to put all the effort they can into their snowboarding.
This year my grade level lense is identity. This year I have grown in my Identity. I have made new friends and I have sparked new intrestes. But honestly I dont think identity just ties to this year, I think we have been growing our identity since we could comprehend the world. and I think we will continue to grow our identities until the day that we die.
