We are working on a project about geology including rock layers of the northeatster woodlands.
We used gram crackers and frosting to simulate plate tectonics moving the graham crackers to the crust. The frosting is lithosphere.
I learn that plate tectonics move and create things like mountains and trenches and volcanoes It helped me understand that plate tectonics move and make things
We used starburst to simulate rocks we cut them up for aroshinn like weathering it was sedimentary rock then we spushed them and them and put them in hot water and it was igneous rock then we used an iron and made a metamorphic rock.
I lear how different rocks are made and how the rock cycle happens.
It helped me know how the rock cycle works and does the environment
During the process of making script i learned a lot about geology of the north/ northeastern woodlands like the five rock layers of the region the illinoin sanmogan and the early wisconsin the middle wisconsin and the late wisconsin the middle wisconsin is my favorite it is like a dark green and dark red. In our model we searched up how all the rock layers lock and we tried to make them as accurate as possible with our resources.the north/northeastern woodlands are very Mountainous and it is very Cold And it can get very warm too and there are rivers and streams there are plants and wildlife there as well. I think the team work and group work of our group was pretty good. We had good communication and we all helped build the diagram that sowed rock layers. We all communicated and contributed to all of the diagrams and scripts. I think that my group did pretty well during the presenting part. We all knew the script and we all made eye contact. I think that I could maybe speak up and not be in such a rush.
we used this to display facts at the exhibition.
I was very confident going into the exhibition and i had already learned about the planet that i was working on [which was Uranus] so i had some background knowledge so I incorporated that into are exhibition.I have got some new knowledge about Uranus which is that it has volcanoes mountains and canyons. I also learned about its tilt and its rotation speed and its climate and temperatures. When building the model, we ran into a couple problems. The model would not stay up but then we put wire and springs and we also almost ran out of time so we had to do a lot on the last day.We got a lot of good comments about speaking and how fun the interactive part was. The interactive was throwing a basketball on Uranus and we also made it so you could guess the tilt of uranus. Overall this was a fun exhibition and i had a lot of fun this was the best exhibition by far. The learning target for this exhibition was to Develop a model of the Earth-sun-moon system to explain lunar phases, eclipses, and seasons.
I can Use a model to describe how gravity influences the motion of objects in galaxies and the solar system.
I can Analyze data to determine the size and scale properties of objects in the solar system.
