The purpose of this writing activity was to learn about how to write an argumentative paper
I did mine on homework. I wrote that I think homework should not be a thing. According to research homework in not good for children. It messes with there sleep, stress, and emotional health.
During the time we did this Reader's log we assessed are reading comprehension. Reading comprehension is how well you understand the book and the information in it. We also assessed how well are writing is on how well we wrote our responses. Last we got ideas for if Kit Carson was guilty or not guilty
I got a Meets on this assignment and I feel like I deserved this grade because I wrote very descriptive entries and I did a good job with following a log with everyone.
My goal for next time we do this is to get all of them done. I feel like we did not have a lot of time to finish this or do anything. So my goal is to take more time and write more.
"I can apply my knowledge of Westward Expansion, geography and government by constructing a well-organized mock trial for or against Kit Carson using logical reasoning, relevant and credible evidence, and acknowledgement of opposing claims."
We had to learn how to write a cross and direct examination using ELA and social studies.
Describe how you grew as a student during this project. What were some challenges you encountered and how did you grow from them?
I think I have grown a lot in this project, I worked on my own with made it so i had to ask for help and had to work on my time management skills. Some of the challenges where working on my own I had to do all the work and would not rely on someone else. Something I did to help with these challenges was ask the teacher for help. When I did they would help me and I would also work with the other bailiff.

What did you learn about yourself as an individual by completing this project?
I learned that I can do a lot more than I think I can. I learned that I enjoy working on my own and having a big role in the trial. I think I did a lot better than I thought.
What grade would you give yourself and why based on the project rubric?
I think I would give myself a a Meets or Maybe an exceeds. I did a really good job by talking with the judge. I could have worked on looking up when I was talking. But overall I think I did a really good job with this.
