Designing a food web project
In this project students will choose a food web to describe in a biome of their choice. Students will explain sources of energy, decomposers, producers and consumers. Including the principles of photosynthesis describing how plants create their own food.
Learning Targets:
I can describe the different parts of a food web.
I can explain the importance of each level of the food web and predict what would happen if a species were removed.
Essential Question:
How does the process of photosynthesis make a food web function?
How do animals adapt in their food webs?
Colorado State Standards
Plants acquire their material from growth chiefly from air and water.
Matter cycles between air and soil and among plants, animals and microbes as these organisms live and die.
The energy released from food was once energy from the sun.
