Social Studies and Science Units
Earth and Space Science
In this unit we will be learning about the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and geosphere. Also incorporated in this unit is the concepts of gravitational pull and composition of the solar system.
American Revolution
In this unit students will focus on the formation of the United States of America. Throughout the unit we will cover the migration of Native Americans through European Colonization all the way to the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S constitution.
Physical and Life Science
In this unit students will explore basic chemistry principles in understanding conservation of mass between physical and chemical changes. We will also explore the movement of matter and energy from photosynthesis, moving through an ecosystem, and ending with decomposers.
Project 1
Earth and Space Sciences: In this project students will compare the 4 earth systems (hydrosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, and geosphere) to other planets and engineer a device that would help facilitate human colonization of another planet.
Project 2
American Revolution: In this project students will create a character who lived through historical events during the American Revolution.
Project 3
Physical Science: In this project students will display the movement of matter in an ecosystem. Starting with the process of photosynthesis all through decomposers.
