Hello 4th grade families! My name is Patrick Garcia and this will be my twelfth year teaching and my fifth year at Valentine Hills. I have taught eleven years in 4th grade and one year in second grade. My wife, and I live in Arden Hills with our two daughters. In my free time I love to play with my daughters, travel, try new foods, running, watching and playing sports like football, basketball, baseball, tennis, and pickleball (I am also a former football and basketball coach)! 

I am very excited to be a part of our Valentine Hills community and to connect with all of you throughout the school year!

Hello 4th Grade Families!! I am Nicole Wirth and this will be my seventh year teaching and my fifth year teaching 4th grade at Valentine Hills. I am so excited to be here and apart of this amazing community! A little about me: I love traveling, exploring new places, and trying new foods. I love hiking, swimming, reading, and eating cheez-its! :)  My happy place is being anywhere outdoors with my family and friends.

Hello 4th Grade Families!

My name is Patrick McCann and I'm so excited to have you in my class this year. Here are a few things you might want to know about me: This is my 13th year of teaching. I taught 4 years of Kindergarten, 3 years of 1st grade, 2 years of 2nd grade, and this is my fourth year in 4th grade! When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my wife, Marin, and our dogs, Mac and Aatto. I also enjoy exploring the outdoors, playing softball, golf, curling, and spending time with friends and family. Some of my favorite things are Minnesota sports teams, coffee, anything dog related, and silly socks!

This August we will be having our first child! We are very excited and can't wait to start the journey of parenthood. This also means that I will be joining your 4th grader a little later than usual. I will begin the year on paternity leave and come back in early October. I have prepared the classroom already and can't wait to come back and jump right in with your student!

Welcome to 4th grade! I am Jen McConn and this will be my twelveth year teaching 4th grade at Valentine Hills. My husband and I live in Roseville with our three kids. When I am not teaching (or driving all my kids to their various activities!), I enjoy traveling, hiking, swimming, being outside, reading, baking, going to Costco and especially doing yoga and cycling.

Hey there 4th grade families! I am so excited to be your teacher this year! My name is Mr. Smith, but some like to call me Smithy. This is my 7th year teaching, and my 6th year teaching at Valentine Hills. I've taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and for several years as a STEAM teacher with K-8 youth. I live in Blaine, and I love spending time with my wife, being a FUN-cle to my nieces, eating Chipotle, playing with our adorable kittens Bruno and Ollie, watching and playing sports like football, basketball, hockey, and baseball, reading, hiking, playing video games, and doing anything outdoors! 

I absolutely love teaching, and I can’t wait for all the exciting things we will learn and do together. We are going to have a lot of fun learning, growing, and adventuring together.

Nyob Zoo 4th grade families! My name is Gao Yang and I have been teaching 4th grade at Valentine Hills for 10 years. I live in Maplewood with my husband and three children. When I am not teaching, my family and I love going for walks in the neighborhood, visiting the library and singing songs around the piano.
