Greetings Morselings!  I'm Ms. Morse and I started at Turtle Lake in 1986...as a student!  I attended Turtle Lake, Chippewa, and Mounds View.   This is my 17th year teaching at Turtle Lake!  I taught 5th grade for 9 years and this is my 8th year in 4th grade.  

I live in Roseville with my wife, Lauren, who is a minister at Edina Community Lutheran Church.  Our son, Luke, is 13 years old.  He is in 8th grade and enjoys playing chess, playing percussion in the school band, doing improv, and made his acting debut in a main role in the school musical last year!  Having an Autism Spectrum Disorder has given him a unique brain that loves playing strategy games and organizing his world in spreadsheets and docs.  Our daughter, Grace, is 8 and in 3rd grade.  She is extremely active and athletic as the only girl on her football team.  She also plays basketball, softball, and golf  She hasn't let being hard of hearing hold her back and has taught us a lot about the learning difficulties that come with hearing loss, especially related to speech and language.

We love to travel and spent 12 days in Iceland, Norway, and Sweden this summer.  We also love escape rooms and lots of family adventures with our extended family, especially my parents and my brother's family, plus lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins!

I have both my bachelor's and master's degree in education and have done post master's work in teaching students with ADHD, ASD, and other learning disabilities.  I have also completed the intensive Language Essentials of Teachers of Reading and Spelling training (LETRS) and had the honor or representing the Mounds View District as a 2015 TIES Exceptional Teacher, the 2019 Rising Star in Economic Education through the Minnesota Council on Economic Education, and as a 2024 Finalist for Minnesota Teacher of the Year.

Other random facts: I'm an avid water drinker and don't drink much else, including coffee. I never set an alarm.  I'm also heavily into ancestry and can trace some of my lines all the way back to 1066!
