As the Morris Area Licensed School Nurse, I take guidance from Horizon Public Health, Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and follow guidelines developed by the epidemiologists at Hennepin County Community Health Department when deciding if a student should be sent home or kept home from school.
To limit the spread of COVID-19 as well as other germs, students should stay home from school, child care, and other activities if they have ANY signs of illness or a fever. We are taking extra precautions during this time.
If a student has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, or is determined to be too ill to be in school for the day (diarrhea, vomiting, suspicious rash, chronic coughing, etc.) the parent/guardian will be called to pick up their child. The student should stay home for at least 24 hours after symptoms have resolved without medication.
High School: Students need to report to the Main Office to be released from school. The parent/guardian must give verbal permission to send the student home or to a medical provider.
The school does not transport students.
