Reading

Find their guided reading level and have them read literature 1 1/2 levels above their tested one. That will provide perfect balance between the reading being challenged and doable.


Allows you to find books 1 1/2 guided reading levels above their tested level. Even better to find books based on their interests!


Reading poetry is great activity idea for gifted students. This website organizes poems by reading level, length, topic and poetic technique.

Also, MackinVIA allows simultaneous, unlimited access to multiple users on all platforms, and is mobile friendly. Will need to create an account for yourself or students but is FREE!

A website that offers a collection of songs, books, games and activities to grow in their language arts skills. It also is available in mobile apps. Its focus is on learning through exploration.

The Reading Machine provides links to 36 online games to help teach and reinforce important reading skills, and to help your students practice and enhance their skills. The games make great "reward time" activities too.

Social Studies

This website offers a rich collection of digital resources from Smithsonian’s 19 museums, 9 major research centers, the National Zoo, and more. The picture-based search list makes it easy for kids to save its millions of images, recordings and texts into their own collection of knowledge.

Wish you could go to a museum and see real life displays and important objects of history? Look no further than here. This article offers the links to virtual tours of 500 museums and galleries from all over the world.

This website allows students to explore history through various articles, worksheets and even a quiz on each section. The sections include Egyptian History, the Middle Ages, Asia, American and more. Each section also includes games and videos.


Critical Thinking

This Google Doc contains a Bingo Card board of engineering activities that are completely possible to do from home using cheap everyday supplies.

Any student who is interested in creating their own game, app or drawings with through coding will love this site! For students who need to get used to the idea of it, there are also Hour of Code Tutorials that teach students computer code to complete various types of games.

Have a student interested in learning another language? This is the site for them. Offers multiple bite-sized levels of language skills from basic vocabulary to more advanced. The app teaches through game-like quizzes where students type in answers, speak phrases and listen to short audio files in the language they're studying.

Using computer programming, help Pixel the puppy get back home to his family. In each puzzle, you'll navigate Pixel to avoid obstacles so he can safely return.

Creativity

Amongst this Bingo card of activities include various opportunities for creativity. A few of these include

You are required to be creative to make the art, games and apps you create your own. Students have complete control and say over what gets made, its shape, colors, textures and the code function that goes with it.

Music

Create your own a cappella group song from a list of chosen voice generated sound effects. There are seven group types that you can choose from. This can also be accessed on an IPad App. If you create a particularly good sound or mixture of sounds for your song, you will unlock bonus song sections.

Noteflight is an online music writing application that lets you create, view, print and hear professional quality music notation right in your web browser. Create your own music with a variety of instruments, and a variety of compositional tools to choose from.

To make a song, add notes by clicking the grid. Then, share your song with a link. You can also use a MIDI keyboard or sing a note into your mic. You can also use your computer keys. Press the arrow keys to move, enter and backspace to add and remove notes, and spacebar to play.

A website that allows you to engage in a variety of music activities. These include, composing music, conducting, performance, listening to music and playing games about music.

Visual Arts

Cassie Stephens created this blog that contains a collection of home-based learning art projects. These projects include making your sketchbook, monochromatic portraits, colorful village drawings and more. She also has MANY art lessons on her YouTube channel.

Encourage students' confidence of performing and creativity through this presentation resource. Prezi allows students to present text and visuals by zooming in and out of it and eye-capturing motion. After making your poster page, share with others on a computer through your account, or you can send the link to them.
