I combined the techniques I had learnt when experimenting with print with my knitting work, using transfer paper and cyanotype dye on my knit samples. I also looked at artists Adel Abdessemed and Jiyoung Chung to inspire the textures and laddered lace I have created. Bleaching the ladders helped to add more detail and interest to the laddered red knit, and I ended up using bleaching as a technique in my final garment.
I was originally going to use this wavy punchcard pattern for the sleeves of my garment, inspired by sound waves and also the wallpaper in my Dad's apartment. However I found the delicate yarn could not cope with the challenges of the punchcard. But using thicker yarn changed the effect of the pattern and texture. It feels much heavier and I don't think worked well as sleeves.
