When learning and teaching piano, I used the "7 Penny Trick" in conjunction with "chunking" to help my students and I memorize music.
The idea is that if you can play a measure (chunk) 7 times in a row with relative perfection, it will "stick" by strengthening the neurological pathways, moving from short term to long term memory.
While in those days I simply gifted them 7 real pennies, this would have been a simple app approach to engage students with memorization techniques!
