What can I expect as a parent?
We use different language in the atrium, when asking your children about their experience, remember:
Atrium, not classroom
Catechist, not teacher
Presentations, not lessons
Not play with toys, work with materials
Questions to ask your child about their experience:
What brought you joy in the atrium today?
What work did you choose today?
Did you see a new presentation today?
What will your child experience in the Atrium this month?

We have spent the first weeks of our school year getting to know each other and how we work in the Atrium. Typically, children start their CGS journey at the age of 3, in preschool. Starting at the age of 6 means we need to see work that might feel almost silly at this age, but is essential for grounding them in the love of the Good Shepherd and their work in the Atrium. The children received the following presentations:
Practical Life, Grace and Courtesy
Altar 1 - 3
The Liturgical Colors
Parent Resources for these presentations: The Mass and the Elementary Child
We have settled into a lovely routine and the children have enjoyed the following presentations for the month of October:
The Liturgical Calendar
The Good Shepherd
Tour of the Church
The Eucharistic Presence of the Good Shepherd
Parent Resources for these presentations: Jesus, the Good Shepherd - Prayer and the Liturgical Year - Pillars of CGS: Scripture and Liturgy
