Jessica Govea, Editor-in-Chief for The Blueprint
Jessica Govea joined The Blueprint when it first commenced as a club in 2023. Now she is in her second year as editor-in-chief of the newspaper. She’s worked and assisted on various tasks for The Blueprint such as articles, pictures, videotaking, and the newspaper layout. Before she joined, she had little to no interest in journalism, but as she started becoming more involved, she values and recognizes the time and effort that goes into creating a newspaper. Besides newspaper, she participates in other after-school clubs including Leo’s, Lab Rats, and Garden Club. She enjoys drawing, music, anime, and spending time with her family. Besides editor-in-chief, she is also a PALS Pathway Junior Ambassador. Jessica is often looking for new opportunities to enhance her social and leadership skills.

Julie Rascon, Assistant Editor-in-Chief
Julie Rascon joined The Blueprint in 2024 to produce articles, manage the calendar, and conduct The Blueprint’s previous websites. She is part of the staff writer team for the 2025-2026 school year, and has been a part of The Blueprint for two years. She originally joined the club to pursue her interest in writing, but after volunteering to manage the calendar and website, her time has shifted focus to these responsibilities. Outside of journalism, she is a junior in the Health Sciences pathway and has taken up leadership roles in the clubs LEOs and Gardening. Beyond any academics and extracurriculars, she likes to annoy her rescue cat at home and collect a bajillion figurines from all her favorite animes.
Juan Flores, Pathways Lead
As a junior in the Health Science Pathway, Juan Flores has spent the last two years as a staff writer for the BluePrint. His passion for journalism began when he realized the power writing possesses to inform, inspire, and create change in his community. Beyond writing, he supports youth well-being as a TeenLine volunteer, leads peers as HOSA Vice-President, and represents the school as a student ambassador. When he’s not busy with school or leadership activities, he enjoys running, hanging out with friends, and opening blind boxes. Smiskis are his personal favorite so when it's time for Christmas shopping, you know what to get him.
Gael Gonzalez, Tech Lead
Gael Gonzalez is a junior and a staff writer in The Blueprint 2025 - 2026. He is a part of the ACE pathway and is the Vice President of FNL and a member of Discovery Club. This is his first year in journalism and he is looking forward to learning more about the process. Above all, he is most excited to be a photographer for The ATC Blueprint. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He likes to relax in his free time by playing video games online with his friends.
Isaac Leong, Arts & Entertainment Lead
Isaac Leong is a brand new dedicated staff writer of the The Blueprint staff and is ready to help out in any way he can. This is his first year venturing into journalism and he started in the 2025-2026 school year. He joined the program to help broaden his set of skills and improve as both a writer and a team player. Isaac is a dedicated gamer, reader and artist. He spends his time pouring countless hours into games like Grounded, Helldivers and Marvel Rivals, often with his friends. Isaac also enjoys reading in his spare time, titles like World War Z and The Count of Monte Cristo are some of his favorites. Isaac is interested in studying finance and business when he graduates and wants to help others with his knowledge of banking, commerce and economics.
Jeremiah Quezada, News Lead
Jeremiah Quezada is a PALS pathway junior staff writer in The Blueprint for 2025-2026. This is his 2nd year in journalism. He’s in journalism because of his interest in informing the students of ATC about what’s happening in the world in an unbiased, factual way. Before he was in journalism he regularly studied geopolitics and what was happening around the globe, leading him to get into journalism. He’s gotten positive feedback for his previous articles in 2024-2025, for his ability to put out factual, insightful and interesting articles. His interests are gaming, history and politics.
Paola Sanchez, School Life Lead
Paola Sanchez is a senior newspaper member who has been a part of the journalism class for 2 years now. She is currently a staff writer for the year 2025-2026. She first joined journalism to figure out if she genuinely had a connection with writing articles for the school's newspaper, which she did. Paola is proud to be a part of the CHEF pathway because she enjoys cooking and baking. But as of right now, she is not in any clubs, although she does participate in any CHEF opportunities that are given to her, and hopes to join a club soon. Paola has a deep passion for cooking/baking for all her friends and family, goes to all kinds of music shows, and enjoys making small pieces of art at home!
Alexander Aragon
Alexander Aragon is one of the members from the Blueprint starting in the 2025-2026 school year. He is in the 11th grade and is in the ACE pathway. He is also one of the ACE ambassadors and is the treasurer of FNL and Discovery Club. He is also an ELAC student going for an AA degree so that he can finish his general education for college. Alexander does this because he wants to go to college and pursue computer engineering. Alexander plays video games and likes to sleep for hobbies. He also plays tennis during the weekend with his brothers.
Justin Aviles
Justin Aviles is a 10th-grade CHEF Pathway student at ATC who likes music, especially Tyler, the Creator, who is his favorite artist. Justin's position on paper is going to be Staff writer and he is in Journalism to write better for essays and possibly get better at writing stories. Justin is not in any clubs, but his main hobbies are listening to music and playing games. He is extremely interested in learning to write stories and play music as well as make games. He likes cats and dogs and has four dogs.
Lucia Colmenares
Lucia Colmenares joined The Blueprint in 2024 to write articles, contribute help with layout, and participated in the creation of the previous website. She has been a part of the staff writer team since the 2024 school year and is going to continue to do so for the 2025-2026 school year. She joined the club because she believed it was a great opportunity to take on, as well as a way to improve her writing skills. Aside from The Blueprint, she has a leadership role in LEO’s and is an active member in Gardening. Outside of clubs she is a junior in the Health Sciences pathway and is your typical average high school student who has hobbies such as drawing, video creation, and just dance.
Elizabeth Diaz
Elizabeth Diaz is a sixteen years old who goes to the Applied technology center highschool. She is in 11th grade, and is also a part of the Health Sciences pathway. She likes being in Health because she learns a lot about the human body which is relevant to the career she wants to pursue in the future which is being a radiation tech. She is a staff member for Blueprint. This is her first year doing Blueprint, which she is excited for it. She joined journalism because she wants to know more about the world around her and write about it. Elizabeth also likes to paint during her free time.
Nikolai Diaz
Nikolai Diaz is 10th grade up and coming journalist for the Blueprint who wants to learn how to be a part of a community and have friends. Nikolai Diaz believes that everyone is good and everyone is not born bad nor is born unkind but misunderstood and believes that everyone should be fair and live fair. He is always trying to be nice and kind and is willing to help anyone who needs it. He wants to make everyone feel safe and fair including him and always try to be fair and respectful no matter what.
Violet Garcia Candelario
Violet Garcia is a staff writer for The Blueprint and it is her first year in journalism during the school year of 2025-2026. The reason she joined journalism is that she always found reporting on school issues, events, and opportunities to be interesting and wanted to give it a chance. Her pathway is PALS as she wants to become an immigration attorney. Not only that but after school she is the secretary for the ATC Discovery Club. Some of her interests include reading and watching shows on Netflix while enjoying her favorite snack spicy ramen. One of her favorite activities after a long day is simply going to the mall with friends or her family and buying all things cute.
Sebastian Guzman
Sebastian Guzman position for the paper is the staff writer for the Blueprint starting in the 2025-2026 school year. This is the first year Sebastian has been doing journalism for the Blueprint. Sebastian is doing journalism to help with his writing and architecture skills, it could also help with his speech when he is presenting to the class or school. Sebastian's pathway that he is doing is ACE (Architecture Construction and Engineering). Sebastian doesn’t have any clubs or activities because it is his first time here in ATC (Applied Technology Center), although his hobbies are video games and going to church, his interests are boxing.
Mary Allison Hernandez
Maryallison Hernandez is a student at ATC high school, she will be starting her second year of “The Blueprint” and the “Iron Broadcast”. She is in the ACE pathway and in her junior year of high school. Something Mary loves to do is dyeing her hair. If you gave her a new hair color idea chances are you’ll see her with that hair color in a few months. Another thing she loves to do is listen to music, Mary can not survive without music. It is a crucial part of her day. Just to sit down and listen to music. Mary is also very friendly and is very talkative. So don’t be afraid to go and talk to her.
Brianna Huerta Herrera
Brianna Huerta is in her sophomore year, chef pathway and decided to join The Blueprint for flex as a staff member. The reason she chose The Blueprint for Flex over another class is that she wants to learn more about cameras, such as photography, and also acquire additional editing techniques. She enjoys editing videos educationally and personally. For example, when presenting and a video needs to be included, she volunteers to edit the video and, in addition, record the footage. Her hobbies include going out, shopping, dancing, listening to music, watching movies, watching soccer, and being with family. She is not participating in any role just yet, but is hoping she will either help with editing or record around campus with a camera.
Armen Papazian
Armen Vasken Harout Arsen Boladian Papazian is a staff writer for the Applied Technology Center’s “Blueprint” newsletter. He originally started as a background guy for the 2024-2025 Blueprint Club, but fortunately, he managed to snag a position in the Flex Class for the 2025-2026 Journalism class for the Blueprint. He likes rock music and he loves to play the guitar. He hasn’t had much news-writing experience in the past, which is why he hopes to get a spot on the Iron Horse Broadcast as an Anchor. He hopes to make people aware of the newest affairs in Armenia, because back in 2022, tens of thousands of ethnic Armenians were denied food, water, and any essentials due to “peacekeepers” blocking access into the country of Nagorono-Kharabagh, and it wasn’t brought to bigger news as far as the public knows.

America Valenzuela is in 12th grade graduating in the class of 2026. She is a staff writer for both Broadcast and Blueprint. She picked interest in both Broadcast and Blueprint to express her creativity and share it with multiple classmates . She would love to be behind the cameras and gain professional experience with the cameras and decorating the setting. She loves to share her passion and love of the film industry and get to be part of it. She loves thriller / horror movies and collects anything horror movies related. She is currently starting her club the Iron Dollar Store, NAMI, Impact and joining Lab Rats. She loves animals and has 7 of her own. America is in the CHEF pathway and is in her first year in Blueprint and Broadcast and can't wait for this new adventure in this senior chapter.
Ashley Vejar
Ashley Vejar is a staff writer for 2025-2026 year. She has been in journalism for the first time this year. She has joined journalism because she wanted to try something new and help with providing her school information on important dates, events, and topics since this is her last year here and as she wants to learn how to work with cameras and working for the Blueprint and Ironhorse Broadcast. She is also in the Health Science pathway. Ashley is involved in HoSA, Impact, Lab Rats, NAMI, and Iron Dollar Store. She is also doing an internship at Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello. In her free time she enjoys reading various types of books, spending time with her friends, going to concerts and buying albums.
Joaquin Munguia, Blobbins
Joaquin S Munguia is a comic artist on The Blueprint. He is a senior (2025-2026) and is currently attending his third/last year of the club. He created The Blueprint logo and Blobbins comics, which has run for +20 issues thus far. He joined the club due to them hiring artists, and he thought doing comics would suit him best, plus some miscellaneous work. He hopes to be a diligent worker this year, compared to the work drought he had in the past. Joaquin is a part of the CHEF pathway, and used to attend the club Friday Night Live. He enjoys drawing, manga, cartoons, and video games.
Oscar Ramirez Mayoral, Cookie Quest
Oscar Ramirez is 12th grade CHEF student and an avid enjoyer of all types of media and particularly enjoys spending his time imagining or thinking about ideas for potential series and comics he’ll create some day. Following such themes, Oscar Ramirez has been drawing since as long as he could remember and has been making comics for Blueprint since its inception. He is also a member of the After School All Stars club: “Animagine”, as co-president as well as being previously a part of the “Just Craftin’ Around” Club. Outside of school, Oscar is just your average teenager, scrolling through videos on his phone, playing video games, and drawing anything that wanders into his imagination. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing with his two dogs Luna and Max and eating out at various restaurants.
Kevin Tayun Esparza, SPUD
Kevin Tayun Esparza is a 12th-grade CHEF student and the president of ATC’s music club. He joined The Blueprint in the 2024-2025 school year and created his flagship comic strip series “SPUD” in which his magnum opus, “Wiener Dog” comic, premiered to critical acclaim. In his spare time, when he is not creating magnificent works of art for The Blueprint, he enjoys playing a lick on his guitar and spending quality time with his pets, Lolita and Maurice. He aspires to attend culinary school to become a great chef after graduation. He hopes for another successful year of Blueprint.
