Research Priorities of Autistic Adult AAC Users
Research Priorities of Autistic Adult AAC Users
We want to learn more about the research priorities of autistic adult AAC users! We created a survey for autistic adult AAC users to learn about their opinions regarding topics in the field of autistic research, as well as to highlight what they want to be made a priority. Have a say in what researchers do!
Email the ABLL Lab at abll@montclair.edu, if you are interested in participating in this study. Participation in this study is asynchronous. We have seperate surveys for adults who are their own guardian and those who have a legal guardian, so please specify which survey you qualify for.
Reading Comprehension Tool for Minimally Speaking Individuals
Reading comprehension assessments do not adequately reflect the skills of individuals who are minimally and/or non-speaking, as many require verbal responses. To adress this crucial issue, we are developing a reading comprehension tool that accomodates for pointing and/or eye-gaze responses.
Currently, we are coordinating with autistic adult AAC users and receiving their feedback on the reading comprehension tool.

Tier 1 AAC: Tale of Two School Districts
How is Tier 1 AAC implemented? Access to Tier 1 AAC can enhance the academic and social outcomes for all learners within a classroom. The implementation of Tier 1 AAC differs district by district, which can impact such outcomes. To further understand differences in implementation, two similar school districts will be compared through in-person observation and staff interviews!
