The 9th grade curriculum consists of various units of study designed to acquaint students with the heightened expectations of high school level work. It is our goal to build strong academic habits and advanced literacy skills as early as possible, ensuring that all students graduate from Masuk prepared to succeed in higher education. With that goal in mind, Literature and Composition focuses on developing critical thinking skills, reading comprehension and inference strategies, and successful research and study habits. The course also emphasizes grammar usage and vocabulary and the foundations of effective literacy in reading, writing, and speaking.
