In their junior year, Masuk students embark on a survey course of American literature. Reading classic works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama, they will explore the joys and challenges of the American experience. Throughout the year, students will continue developing their writing and reading skills, with an eye on the rigors of college study. This course also aims to prepare all students for success on the SAT
Interested and qualified 11th grade students may choose to register for Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, focusing on analysis of writers' rhetorical techniques, complex argumentation, and synthesis of ideas.
