ATTENTION ALL 9TH GRADE STUDENTS
Welcome to Modesto High School!
Before the first day of school, all 9th grade students are required to attend our Student Orientation. This event is designed to help you become familiar with the campus, learn important information about high school, and start the year prepared for success.
Monday, August 10, 2026
8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Location: Auditorium
During orientation, students will:
Receive important information about Modesto High School
Meet student leaders and staff members
Learn about school expectations and campus resources
Become familiar with the campus layout
Receive assistance with lockers and parking registration if needed
Learn how to access their class schedule
Students will also have an opportunity to ask questions and get comfortable with the campus before the first day of school.
Class schedules will be available in PowerSchool the day before school begins.
Student ID photos will be taken during the first week of school.
The first day of school is Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Students with a 0 Period class begin at 7:26 AM.
Parents and guardians are welcome to accompany their student to orientation, but student participation is the primary focus of the event. Staff and student leaders will be available to answer questions and help students prepare for a successful start to the school year.

Student Orientation (ROAR) is designed to help students start the school year prepared and connected. Attendance is required for all 9th grade students, all 10th grade students (for hearing screening), and all students new to Modesto High School.
During Student Orientation (ROAR), students will:
Become familiar with Modesto High School
Learn about important school procedures and expectations
Register for lockers and parking permits
Receive technology support if needed
Update health and immunization records
Complete required hearing screenings (10th grade students only)
Purchase PE clothes, yearbooks, and Panther Cards
Pick up class schedules and learn how to access them in PowerSchool
