SuperWhoLock is technically three different TV Shows, Supernatural, Doctor Who & Sherlock but they are grouped together for some reason. I mean, I understand Doctor Who and Sherlock because they both have the same writers and are both British but idk how Supernatural got thrown in there.
SuperWhoLock is regarded as the Big Three, the main fandoms of Tumblr, and its quite true. (see tumblr page if you have no clue what I'm talking about).
Doctor Who is the most mature of the fandoms, not only the audience but also the show. It just had its 53rd anniversary a few months ago. The fans themselves are also quite mature just because of the nature of the show. It was originally educational, and it still kind of is. That and the fact that it is the most emotional, soul wrenching, heart breaking show I have ever watched. Its so, so sad sometimes. People think its just some geeky sci-fi show but I have cried more watching that show than I have for any other reason at all. So ya, on tumblr we're just the old, sad men that you can tell, just by looking at them, how tired and drained they are. Like the look war veterans have that let you know, they've seen things. Thats us.
Supernatural is the most well known for having a gif for absolutely everything. It scares the rest of tumblr, they all hate us. We're also very notorious for the amount of deaths our characters have gone through. We are so blind to it now, death doesn't even faze us. I was watching a movie where SPOILER ALERT someone dies and everyone was freaking out and my immediate reaction was, "Ehh, they'll come back"... Then I realized it wasn't Supernatural... or Doctor Who...or Sherlock...Ok I guess they all have that problem but mostly Supernatural. There was an episode called Mystery Spot where Dean Died 11 times on screen(but it was implied that he died many more times than was actually shown). All together, the Winchester brothers died a grand total of 117 times. Yep.
The last of the iconic trio is Sherlock. They're known for being, ehhh... different. Maybe a little crazy. They only have 4 seasons, and 13 episodes. No not each season, in total. They have only 13 episodes. To be fair, they are an hour and a half long, but still. This results in them being a bit damaged. They take the whole series apart scene by scene in their free time, looking for anything they may have missed. Like I said, Sherlock and Doctor Who have the same writer, a cruel, cruel man named Steven Moffat. Just typing his name gives me chills. He is the best writer ever, but he has a horrible twisted mind. He has evil ideas and awesome skill. Not a good combo.
After writing this I've come to the realization how much these fandoms represent a family(a royal family in this case). Doctor Who is the oldest, the mature one. Supernatural is the middle child, the mischievous annoying one. Sherlock of course is the youngest, the most damaged(and most picked on by their older siblings and friends). But its an amazing family, that tease and annoy each other but in the end would do anything for each other and truly loves each other.
