Alice Whitmore is an independent researcher living and working on unceded Peek Whurrong land.
In 2016 she received her PhD in Translation Studies from Monash University, and has worked as a Lecturer at Monash and Deakin universities. She is currently working as a part-time Research Officer on the World Crime Fiction project.
Alice has translated several novels by Latin American and Italian writers, including Guillermo Fadanelli (Mexico), Mariana Dimópulos (Argentina), and Jonathan Bazzi (Italy). Her translation of Mariana Dimópulos's Imminence was awarded the 2021 NSW Premier's Translation Prize.
