To research, write about and teach crime fiction in Australia is to recognise that the foundational fiction of this country is Terra Nullius, and its foundational crime is the dispossession of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. For these reasons, we acknowledge the Awabakal and Worimi Nations, the Wurundjeri and Boonwarrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, and the Peek Whurrung people of the Maar Nation, on whose unceded lands we conduct our work.
