The MET Hub recently hosted a two-day TRIZ Level 1 Practitioner Workshop: Innovation in Medical Engineering & Healthcare, bringing together academics, postgraduate and undergraduate students. TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) is a structured methodology designed to drive systematic innovation. The workshop was expertly facilitated by Dr. Issac Lim, a certified TRIZ trainer, who guided participants in applying TRIZ principles to advance innovation in medical devices and healthcare solutions. We welcome collaborations and are happy to share this workshop with other institutions.
👉 Feel free to connect with us if you’d like to learn more about TRIZ or explore opportunities to run a similar program.

We are delighted to host Dr. Eng Kuan Moo from Carleton University, Canada, at Monash University Malaysia, where he delivered a compelling research seminar titled "Understanding the Biomechanics of Soft Tissues at the Cellular Level." The seminar attracted participation from students and academics across the Schools of Engineering, Pharmacy and Medicine, reflecting the truly multidisciplinary relevance of Dr. Moo’s work. Dr. Moo shared fascinating insights into his research on chondrocytes and their response to impact loading, as well as how sarcomeres in muscle cells influence force production at the whole-muscle level. Following the seminar, Dr. Moo engaged in a fruitful discussion with Assoc. Prof. Ean Hin Ooi, Director of the MET Hub, exploring opportunities for future research collaboration.
