April 2025
On 23 April 2025, academics from the School of Engineering and the School of Medicine gathered at Clinical School Johor Bahru for the third edition of Monash MERCi. During this session, we reviewed the progress of ongoing projects and discussed the re-alignment of our research directions to tackle some of the most urgent global health challenges. Moving forward, we aim to focus our efforts on areas such as the health impacts of climate change, mental health, healthy ageing and antimicrobial resistance. A key part of this next phase will be strengthening our engagement with clinical staff, who will bring real-world problems and perspectives directly into our collaborative research discussions. By connecting engineering innovation with clinical insight, Monash MERCi is committed to developing impactful, practical solutions that address the evolving needs of healthcare.
Exciting times ahead — looking forward to seeing where these collaborations take us!
