What is Start-Up Bootcamp?

Start-Up Bootcamp is an intensive and immersive learning program that challenges participants to turn an idea into a start-up. Organised by the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hub of Monash University Malaysia, participants of the bootcamp will work in teams, be supported with master classes, connect with industry players and mentors, and be able to access selected on-campus resources all over an exciting 2.5 days. The bootcamp culminates with an idea pitch for a chance to win RM5,000!
The 2023 edition of the Start-Up Bootcamp is themed MY RESILIENT CITY. We invite creative and entrepreneurial minds to build your vision for the urban landscape of the future. Challenge the status quo, rethink the possible, and bring potential to life with your startup idea for the resilient city.
Start-Up Bootcamp is open to anyone between the ages of 16 to 30. The bootcamp is held in person at the campus of Monash University Malaysia.
This is a team event. Participant registration is on individual basis.*
*Participants will form teams with other participants during the bootcamp.
Theme: My Resilient City
The theme of Start-Up Bootcamp 2023 is My Resilient City.
The global urban population is growing at a rapid pace, resulting in ever-larger cities and expanding urban sprawl. This rising demand for space and resources has made life in the city stressful, expensive, and in some places, life threatening. To overcome this, we need more resilient cities - cities with diverse industries, a culture of innovation, an inclusive and cohesive society, effective infrastructure, and an active community with an eye to the future.
Through Start-Up Bootcamp 2023: My Resilient City, your ideas can fall under the following models/approaches:
Entrepreneurial Models, e.g. business ideas.
Social Entrepreneurial Models, e.g. ideas that deliver a social impact while being sustainable via a business model.
Local Government Approaches, e.g. ideas that innovate design and provision of public amenities and services.

Start-Up Bootcamp provides you with access to leading Malaysian entrepreneurs and industry mentors, workshops to learn about various entrepreneurship and innovation tools and methods within the competition framework and access to industry judges to goal of nurturing future-ready graduates.

Open to all participants aged 16 to 30.
Young working adults and students (High-School, College and University) are encouraged to apply .

There is a registration fee of RM25 per participant. (Includes 6% SST and is non-refundable)*
*The registration fee includes supplies, merchandise and meals for all participants throughout the Bootcamp duration
