Writing for Audience & Purpose Assignment:

Create a magazine article or short book on the animal of your choice for a child aged 5-8 years. Be sure to consider the following things:

• Who is my audience?

• What format will I write in?

• What is the best text structure for the format I am choosing?

• What elements of nonfiction do I need to include?

• Where will I get information from?

• What is my purpose for writing?

Submit your assignment via Schoology or email to Mrs. Westhead. The due date is as follows:

• M3 Cyan & Violet - Friday, January 28th

• M3 Lilac - Monday, January 31st

You may want to consider using Google Slides for this assignment. For a book, use a slide for each page. For a magazine article, you can alter the size/shape of the page by: go under the File tab; select Page Set Up; change to Custom and then change the dimensions of the page.
