Nature has a unique ability to uplift, comfort and inspire. Through this collection of colour pencil drawings, students from Nan Chiau High School celebrate the beauty and diversity of birds, capturing their vibrant colours, delicate textures and distinctive personalities with care and precision.

Created through patient observation and thoughtful layering of colour, each artwork reflects not only the students' growing artistic skills but also their appreciation for the quiet wonders of the natural world. The process encouraged mindfulness, perseverance and attention to detail, of which qualities that are echoed in every stroke.

It is our hope that these artworks bring moments of calm, joy and connection to all who pass by. May these colourful avian companions brighten your day, offer a gentle pause amidst life's demands and remind us that beauty and hope can often be found in the smallest moments.

Inkprint of Kindness is a series of artworks that explores how even the smallest acts of kindness can leave a meaningful and enduring impression. Inspired by the way ink leaves its mark on the paper, the work capture moments of care, encouragement, and connection through handwritten notes, doodles, and visual traces. Each mark becomes a reminder that kindness, though often simple and fleeting, has the power to create ripples that extend far beyond the moment. While ink may gradually fade, the impact of kindness remains.

There is No Planet B – The Trashion is a thought-provoking art-meets-fashion exhibition that reimagines sustainability through the creative expressions of Nan Chiau High School’s Secondary One students.

In celebration of Earth Day on 22 April, selected artworks are on display at both Nan Chiau High School and Sengkang Public Library, offering the community a unique glimpse into how the next generation is responding to pressing environmental issues through art and design.

Inspired by Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 and global sustainability goals, students have crafted imaginative fashion pieces using recycled and upcycled materials sourced from their everyday surroundings. Each creation tells a story — interweaving elements of cultural heritage, traditional folktales, and inventive reuse, all while reflecting a deep commitment to environmental stewardship.

More than a celebration of youthful creativity, There is No Planet B - The Trashion is a heartfelt call to action. It invites viewers to reflect on their own consumption habits, embrace more sustainable lifestyles, and envision a future where fashion and environmental consciousness go hand in hand.

This exhibition serves as a compelling reminder that caring for our planet begins with the choices we make today. Let us mark this Earth Day by coming together to take meaningful steps towards a greener, more sustainable world.

During the pandemic, we started our Art Outreach to the Community at the Outram Community Hospitals. We have been sharing our Secondary 1 & 2 class assignments with the staff. In 2024, our students' artworks will be sold to raise fund for the hospitals' Health Fund for the patients.
