Adjust the slider of angle φ to see how the displacement-time graph changes due to the change in the starting conditions.
The red block is representing the sand on the oscillating plate. As it oscillates up and down, notice how the red block stays in contact (or lose contact) with the plate.

Q5
Adjust the slider to change the speed of oscillation.
Increase the frequency of oscillation until the ball loses contact with the plate with some point of time. Notice the position and motion of the plate when the ball loses contact.
Click on "Show Forces" button to see how the weight and normal contact force changes.
Click on "Show Forces" to see how the upthrust changes in magnitude. (and also where the upthrust originates from)
Click on "Push block down" to increase amplitude of oscillation or to demonstrate effects of "resonance". If push down at the wrong timing, the amplitude decreases instead.
