Appeal for School Transfer

Q: My child wants to transfer from another school into Serangoon Secondary School. How can we do so?

A: Students who are seeking transfer into Serangoon Secondary School have to meet the school’s cut-off point and admission criteria. Transfers are subjected to vacancies available.

Parents/Guardians are to submit the appeal application via this form by Wednesday, 28 December 2022, 12 pm. You will be required to upload the verification slip after submitting the online S1 Option Form (i.e. the full page, including the list of schools chosen) and a copy of PSLE result slip (i.e. the full page, including the Achievement Level for each subject and course eligible). Please refer to the tab on 'Administrative Matters' for a sample of the required documents. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Results of the appeal application will be released from Friday, 30 December 2022, 5 pm onwards. As the school will be concurrently facilitating the registration of incoming Secondary 1 students and processing appeals, it may take some time to process your child’s appeal. We seek your understanding that we will reach out to you with more information when ready. Parents/Guardians who accept the offer are required to complete the transfer application at the General Office by 5 pm on the next working day.

Until the transfer is approved, students seeking transfers are to report to the secondary school that they are originally posted to.

Q: My child wants to transfer to another secondary school. Does he still report to Serangoon Secondary School on the first day of school? Can he wear his primary school uniform on the first few days?

A: Yes. He should report to Serangoon Secondary School until the transfer is confirmed by the other school. He is allowed to come to school in his primary school uniform for the first week of school.
