Paravandrum St Stephen’s
In July 2003, St Stephen’s School registered an orchid under its name. The orchid is a new generation Paravadrum hybrid. Compact and flowering, this warm golden-coloured hybrid is exceptionally hardy and adaptable to all conditions. We hope that the image of this inspiring breed will serve as a rally point for St. Stephen’s students - past, present and future - reminding them To Believe and To Serve.
One of the siblings of the parent plant was presented to our Guest-of-Honour, BG (NS) George Yong-Boon Yep during the official opening of the new school building on 26 September, 2003.
The flowers were also gold-plated and sold in the form of brooches and tie pins to raise funds for the various projects the school is undertaking.
