Geography is the study of places and the relationships people have with their environments. As geographers, we ask spatial questions as we seek to understand where things are found, why they are there, how they develop and change over time, as well as investigate the geographic impact of human activities.
Unlike most other disciplines, Geography is not defined by any particular topic or content area. Instead the subject explores many diverse areas of interests including landforms, settlements, people, culture, environment, politics and much more. What distinguishes Geography is that it approaches the study of these content areas from a spatial perspective.
As a department, we aim to provide student-centric, up-to-date and comprehensive teaching and learning experiences in Geography. Through our curriculum design, we hope that you will enjoy learning about Geography as much as we have enjoyed preparing our lessons.
