At Qifa, learning English is more than lessons in the classroom. It’s about discovering stories, expressing ideas and growing confident voices. Our English learning experiences are thoughtfully designed to nurture a love for language while building strong communication skills.
We guide pupils to express their thoughts clearly and creatively through fun, meaningful and age-appropriate writing experiences.
Lower Primary – Learning to Write Together (MLEA):
Pupils take part in shared experiences linked to stories they read. They talk about what they see, think and feel, build rich vocabulary, and turn their ideas into simple, confident pieces of writing.
Upper Primary – Becoming Independent Writers (WPC):
Pupils learn how real writers work — planning their ideas, drafting, revising and polishing their writing. Along the way, they gain confidence, clarity and a strong sense of audience.
We nurture happy, curious readers by creating exciting opportunities for pupils to explore stories and books beyond the classroom.
Reading Fiesta (End of Year):
A much-anticipated school-wide celebration where pupils enjoy reading challenges, interactive activities and exposure to a wide range of books and genres.
Termly Theme-Based Library Events:
Each term, the library comes alive with themed activities that spark curiosity, encourage exploration and build strong reading habits.
Our enrichment experiences help pupils stretch their thinking, express themselves confidently and enjoy using language in creative ways.
Lower Primary Speech and Drama:
Through movement, voice and performance, pupils build confidence in speaking, learn to express emotions and ideas, and enjoy bringing stories to life.
Little Red Dot (LRD) Extension Activities:
Selected pupils take part in engaging extension activities that encourage deeper thinking and discussion. Using Visible Thinking routines, pupils learn to share ideas, make connections, justify opinions and reflect thoughtfully on what they read and learn.
English Language Enrichment Activities:
Pupils are given opportunities to participate in enrichment programmes and competitions that allow them to apply their language skills in exciting and meaningful ways.
All Lower Primary pupils enjoy theatre experiences where stories leap off the page and onto the stage. These outings build listening and viewing skills, deepen appreciation of stories and inspire rich conversations and reflections back in class.
