At Qifa, Character & Citizenship Education (CCE) goes beyond lessons. It is about shaping confident, resilient and socially responsible individuals who are ready for the future and committed to Singapore.
Education and Career Guidance (ECG) supports pupils in developing a growth mindset, adaptability and resilience, empowering them to make informed choices about their learning and future pathways. Through ECG, pupils gain early awareness of a wide range of education and career options, and learn to appreciate the value of different talents and aspirations.
ECG is thoughtfully integrated into our Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) curriculum through Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP) lessons, where pupils reflect on their interests, strengths and goals.
A highlight of the programme is our ECG Experience Day, which offers hands-on exposure to secondary school life and career pathways. Pupils engage in:
Talks by secondary school students
Mini career engagement sessions
Interactive booths hosted by professionals
These authentic experiences spark curiosity, deepen self-awareness and build confidence as pupils begin to envision their future journeys.
Insightful talk from New Town Secondary School and Kent Ridge Secondary School

Total Defence Day (TDD), commemorated annually on 15 February, marks Singaporeās surrender to Japan in 1942 during World War II. This important occasion reminds pupils of our nationās past and reinforces the shared responsibility of safeguarding Singaporeās peace and security.
At Qifa, Total Defence Day is brought to life through meaningful and experiential learning activities. Pupils take part in:
An engaging assembly talk
CCE (FTGP) lessons exploring the six pillars of Total Defence and their personal roles
Visits to the Qifa Heritage Gallery, where pupils explore historical artefacts and stories
To deepen learning, pupils also experience a power disruption simulation, encouraging them to think about preparedness, resilience and adaptability in challenging situations. Through these activities, pupils learn that Total Defence begins with every individual and everyday actions.
