This programme for the upper primary pupils has been effective in stretching the high progress learners.
Pupils are exposed to challenging sums that sharpen their analytical and problem-solving skills. It also stimulates pupils’ interest and enthusiasm for problem-solving and helps develop their mathematical intuition and logical thinking and reasoning.

ICAN Programme

Improving Confidence and Achievement in Numeracy (ICAN) is a programme that supports low progress learners.

This programme helps low progress learners cope with language issues and anxiety in Math and gets them to be motivated to study Mathematics.

EXCELLENCE 2000 (E2K) Mathematics Programme

The E2K Mathematics Programme is a Mathematics Programme for selected Primary 4 and Primary 5 pupils who demonstrate interest and ability in Mathematics. The aim of the programme is to develop in pupils mathematical reasoning skills and their abilities of independent learning and creativity. The programme also aims to develop in our pupils mathematician’s habits and attitudes and the important 21st competencies like critical and inventive thinking. The development of the competencies reinforces their confidence to communicate effectively.

During the lessons, pupils are given opportunities to collaborate with their peers and engage in higher order thinking activities like puzzles, games and innovative mathematics explorations through an inquiry approach which are specially designed to strengthen the pupils’ essential understanding of mathematical concepts and a love of learning.

Sudoku Friendly Match

Mathematical thinking in the form of logical deduction is very useful in solving Sudoku. Our school had a Sudoku Friendly Match for pupils to practise their combinatorial thinking skills.

Math is Fun activities have been successfully conducted for all students in Term 3. The online activities reinforced classroom learning and provided students with additional opportunities to practice and apply the concepts they have learned in the classroom.
