As part of our department’s efforts to embrace all learners, our Malay Language classes consists of pupils from different ability levels. This encourages pupils to embrace diversity amongst their peers. This also highlights to the pupils that everyone is special and gifted in their own way. Every pupils has their own strengths that they can use to contribute to the learning in the classroom.
Our department also runs a weekly reading support programme with the assistance of the PSG members to provide additional reading support to some of our Primary 1 and 2 pupils. Pupils have shown to have improved vastly in their reading through this programme.
Students who need support in building a stronger foundation in their oracy and literary skills will be offered to join the Mother Tongue Support Programme (MTSP). Students will be identified in Primary 2 to join the programme in Primary 3 and 4.
Students who have a strong ability and interest in the Malay Language will be offered Higher Malay Language. Starting from Primary 3, the Higher Malay Language serves as an enrichment module for students who are interested and passionate in the Malay Language.
