The Junior Colleges aim to offer a challenging environment for students to develop their talents, both academically and non-academically.Â
There are two ways to be admitted into a JC: either through the traditional Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) or through the Direct School Admission – Junior College (DSA-JC) Exercise.
The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) is one of the avenues that allows O-Level certificate holders to apply for admission to Junior Colleges (JC) or Millennia Institute (MI).Â
If you have a special talent in sports, CCAs or specific academic areas that may not be demonstrated at the O-Level examinations, consider applying for the DSA-JC!Â
Junior College Subject CombinationsÂ
Students will take subjects at H1 and H2 levels in different subject combinations which have been carefully aligned to the GCE A-Level curriculum. The subject combinations allow students to pursue their areas of interest and to specialise in the domains of the Sciences or the Arts, but at the same time maintaining a broad exposure, by offering contrasting subjects, and building key knowledge skills via core subjects like General Paper and Project Work.
Eligible students can also offer subjects at H3 level which present diverse learning opportunities for critical thinking and in-depth study.
There are a variety of programmes in schools that help students develop their strengths and areas of interest. Learn more about these programmes and how they are beneficial. Click on the respective links below to find out more!
Note: These cut-off points may change year-on-year, depending on the demand for places in a particular JC
