  • How to login to Chromebook?

Sign in using your Student iCON email address (full_name@students.edu.sg) and use the same password as the one used for Student iCON / Windows password / MIMS password /school Wi-Fi password. 

Example:
Username: abc_cde_fgh@students.edu.sg
Password: Uraiss123456

*If you have forgotten your Student iCON email address or/and your Student iCON password, inform your Form Teacher.

  1. Password must be 8-24 characters long.

  2. Password must contain at least 1 lowercase letter(s).

  3. Password must contain at least 1 numeric character(s).

  4. Password must contain at least 1 uppercase letter(s).

  5. Password must contain at least 2 alphabetic character(s).

  6. Password must not be one of 3 previous passwords.

  7. Password must not match or contain first name.

  8. Password must not match or contain last name.

  9. Password must not match or contain user ID.

  10. Password expires every 90 days. Users will be alerted via email 7 days before the expiry date.

  11. Maximum of 5 login attempts are allowed.

  12. The password has to be changed after subsequent password resets.

  • How do I report of lost Chromebook or items?

  1. Parents to make a police report for the lost Chromebook. The police report shall includes description and date/time of incident (if lost or theft), photos of the incident, machine serial no, and student/guardian information (name, contact number, address and school name.

      • If the lost Chromebook is covered under the circumstances listed in the device’s insurance coverage, parents should contact and inform the device contractor via their helpdesk or service centre. They will need to furnish the contractor with the police report for insurance claim. (Applicable only if the device is still under insurance coverage period).

      • The contractor’s helpdesk/service centre will advise parents on the insurance claim procedure.

  2. Parents should also inform school of the lost device. School’s DMA Administrator will remotely lock the device.

      • School will then loan a temporary Chromebook from the common pool to students. (Subject to availability of spare Chromebook as there are limited quantity)

      • Contractor will send a replacement Chromebook to school and school will it pass to student if device is covered under insurance.
        Parents can opt for doorstep delivery but with delivery charges.

      • If the Chromebook is without insurance coverage or the loss is due to clause(s) not covered under insurance, parents can seek school’s assistance to procure a replacement device.

Insurance and Warranty

Coverage Plan:

  • 3-year insurance + 3-year warranty

  • Allows for 2 repairs or 1 replacement

The Chromebook device insurance coverage includes:

Damage to or loss of device from the following which are non-manufacturer defects or internal mechanical faults: 

  • Fire

  • Lightning 

  • Power Surges 

  • Accidental e.g. water spillage, drop etc 

  • Theft due to forcible entry 

  • Robbery 

What's NOT Covered:

  • Cosmetic damages (scratches, dents, or cracks not affecting product functionality or structural integrity);

  • Equipment failures due to use outside normal operating conditions;

  • Data loss or business interruption; intentional damage and misuse;

  • Removal or alteration of parts / accessories; damage to peripherals or third-party products

Note:

  • Once insurance is claimed for a replacement Chromebook, the insurance coverage will cease and the replacement Chromebook will not covered by insurance.

  • The insurance coverage is only applicable to situations of damages and loss where the student has taken  precautions to safeguard the device.

How to Report Chromebook Device Software or Hardware Issues/Lost

  1. Reporting of Device Issues (Software issues or Unsure)

    • If students encounter issues with their devices in school, they may approach their School-based IT support staff for assistance. They will perform basic troubleshooting and advice accordingly.

    • Alternatively, parents/students can directly contact Contractor’s helpdesk (See picture below)
