Here, you’ll see how our Henry Park students step up to support their peers in meaningful ways. From being reading buddies to younger schoolmates, to teaching sports during Shine Day, to spreading cyber-wellness messages, and even promoting kindness to our non-teaching staff, students show that looking out for one another goes beyond the classroom. These acts of care and initiative strengthen friendships and nurture a school culture where everyone feels respected and valued.
Checkmate with Values: Chess for Character and Community [19 September 2025 to 26 September 2025]
This Values-in-Action (VIA) project uses chess as a platform to develop socially responsible students and reinforce core values like discipline, resilience, and strategic thinking. The program unfolds over two sessions: first, students connect chess principles to real-life contributions; second, they plan and execute a community outreach initiative. By teaching juniors, creating resources, or organizing values-focused matches, students learn to apply these values in service of their community, reflecting on their growth as both skilled players and conscientious individuals.
