The Ministry of Education organises the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) annually to celebrate the vitality and talents of youths in the Arts.

SYF aims to foster character development, 21st-century skills, and social-emotional learning through the arts. It encourages widespread participation in arts-related school activities, celebrates youth creativity and talent, and promotes cultural appreciation to support nation-building. Its three main platforms are Arts Presentation, Art Exhibition, and Celebrations. 

Performing Arts CCAs, such as Angklung Ensemble, are classified under Arts Presentation. This means that secondary schools whose Performing Arts CCAs take part in SYF will perform every odd year. i.e, 2021, 2023, 2025
