Tips & Tricks

The collections (text tutorials) below may be a bit harder but try to learn from them if you can.

They were built up over the years as designers tried to share among each other.

We hope to provide more basic design tips especially for new users and designers in the near future.

Geogebra Builders Handbook (for intermediate to advanced users)

Useful Tips & Tools (while using GeoGebra):

  1. When editing a GeoGebra interactive (created by someone else), be careful not to delete any object within the GeoGebra interactive as it may be linked to other objects (which also be deleted). It is better to just hide them (if you do not wish to show these objects).

  1. A GeoGebra applet/interactive is just an applet/interactive on its own, but a GeoGebra activity can have other elements (e.g. text, question, video, image, pdf, website) added into them so that it becomes an activity with instructions and questions.

  1. GeoGebra allows users to change the angle units from degrees (°) to radians.

  1. GeoGebra allows the axes to be labelled (including Greek letters, like θ & π ) and other units (including degrees and radians) to be used.

  1. GeoGebra allows images to be embeded onto your GeoGebra interactive.

(can be used to remove background (i.e. create a transparent background) of the image that you want to embed onto your GeoGebra interactive)

  1. GeoGebra animation can be saved as a gif file (animated image) so that you can easily share, embed onto a website or insert onto your presentation slides.

  1. GeoGebra allows your to create a customised tool or to customise the toolbar so that users will find it easier to use your GeoGebra interactive.

  1. GeoGebra can be as a LMS (using GeoGebra Groups, which is similar to Google Classroom) or easily integrated into your existing Google Classroom.
