• You will engage in a Job Shadowing experience at Q & M Dental Centre Pte Ltd facility and/or any of its associated clinics (collectively known as ‘Q & M’).  This means you will be observing the work of the dentists.

• At the start of the shadowing, you will be assigned to an employee who will discuss a typical workday, and explore different aspects of working in the healthcare setting.  

• You must abide by all the policies, rules, and regulations of Q & M and follow the direction of the assigned employee.

• You will be an observer to the patient prior to any encounter, and patients will have to provide informed consent to have you in the room. You will not be providing any advice/treatment of any kind to the patients. 

• The job shadowing scheduling is solely subject to the appointed clinic doctor's patient schedule. It will be based on flexible schedules. 

• Treatment observation shall be subject to Doctor & patient's approval before the clinic Area Manager can arrange the student participant to conduct their observation at the clinic, there will be no guarantee of full commitment of 8 hours or observation/per day. 

• You are not required to stay back in the clinic upon completion of your scheduled observation session(s); you will be released for the day which means you must use the remainder of the day to either do VIA or online learning. 

If you want to sign up for this internship, please take note you must first go through 3 days of lectures at the Q&M College of Dentistry (the only private dental Uni equivalent in Singapore certified by CPE committee for private education). Once you get the certificate of attendance then only you will be allowed to go into clinics. The lectures will most likely be in the last week of December and the internship will commence 2 Jan and end of 31 Jan 2025.

The Singapore Children’s Society was established in 1952 and protects and nurtures children and youth of all races and religions. Its services have evolved to meet the changing needs of children. In 2023, the Society reached out to 18,115 children, youth and families in need. 

Today, Children’s Society operates more than 10 service centres islandwide, offering services in the four categories of: Vulnerable Children and Youth, Children and Youth Services, Family Services, and Research and Advocacy. Their Patron-in-Chief is Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore.

Student interns will have the opportunity to work with social workers, counsellors and psychologist to develop and run mental health related content as a group.
